{"id":1,"name":"Michiel de Lange","url":"https:\/\/www.bijt.org\/wordpress","description":"<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bijt.org\/wordpress\/about\/\">Michiel de Lange<\/a> (1976) is an Assistant Professor in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/newmediastudies.nl\/\">New Media Studies<\/a> at Utrecht University, researching mobile media and urban culture and identity. He is the co-founder of The Mobile City<\/a>, an independent research group founded in 2007 that investigates the influence of digital media technologies on urban life and the implications for urban design and policy. Michiel is trained as a cultural anthropologist, and holds a PhD in philosophy (2010) with a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bijt.org\/wordpress\/2010\/11\/21\/download-my-phd-dissertation-moving-circles\/\">dissertation<\/a> about mobile media technologies and urban identities. He collaborated in a locative media art &amp; science project (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nomadicmilk.net\/\">www.nomadicmilk.net<\/a>). He worked for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kennisland.nl\/\"> Kennisland<\/a>, a Dutch think-tank that aims to strengthen the knowledge-based society. Here he worked on several projects at the intersection of ICTs and the city, e.g. co-organizing the <a href=\"http:\/\/creativecapital.nl\/\">Creative Capital<\/a> conference. He also volunteered and worked for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cybersoek.nl\/\">Cybersoek<\/a>, a computer neighborhood center in Amsterdam.
