Methods for Citizen Engagement in Smart Cities Research&#8221;, edited by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EARijshouwer\">Emiel Rijshouwer<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LiesbetvanZ\">Liesbet van Zoonen<\/a> (both EUR and Centre for BOLD Cities).<\/p>\n<p>In our chapter, we position <em>controversing<\/em> as a way to open up democratic discussions about smart urban futures (as we do in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bijt.org\/wordpress\/2019\/03\/22\/2-year-fulltime-postdoc-vacancy-nwo-project-designing-for-controversies-in-responsible-smart-cities\/\">research collaboration<\/a>, and in our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bijt.org\/wordpress\/2021\/11\/03\/new-publication-controversing-the-datafied-smart-city\/\">academic paper on the subject&gt;&gt;<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><a
