Maar streetart lokt bezoekers naar de minder toeristische hoekjes van je stad en dus worden er nu zelfs wandelgidsen uitgegeven. Vreemd is dat niet, vindt <strong>Michiel de Lange<\/strong>, docent digitale media en de stad aan de universiteit van Utrecht. &#8216;Vandaag bepalen niet langer alleen offici\u00eble stadsplanners hoe een stad eruitziet. Culturele voorlopers hebben altijd al de eerste stappen gezet in &#8216;slechtere&#8217; buurten, maar dankzij digitale platformen gaat dat nu sneller dan ooit. Soms wordt in een buurt met veel leegstaande gebouwen of onbebouwde kavels een zomerse pop-up ingericht met een Instagramvriendelijk wrakhoutbarretje. In de woorden van architect Winnie Maas: lokhipsters tonen hoe gaaf en <em>edgy<\/em> een buurt is, zorgt voor een toeloop. We zoeken nu eenmaal allemaal originele en authentieke ervaringen, en die heb je niet onder de Eiffeltoren. Daar heb je een rafelig randje voor nodig.
