De scriptie gaat over de rol die het internet speelt in het denken over moderniteit in Indonesië. De wetenschappelijke inbedding van dit project valt binnen de context van de informatiemaatschappij, globalisering, modernisering en culturele representaties van technologie.

Here you'll find the masters thesis 'Dunia Digit@l: Internet and Modernity in Indonesia 2000', written for my studies in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam. It was written in the period october 2000 - may 2001 after a four month research period in Jakarta.
This thesis explores the way the internet and the information society are thought of as the new modernising forces in contemporary Indonesia. The scientific context in which to place this thesis would be: the information society, globalisation, modernity and cultural representations of technology.
Although it is written in Dutch, there is a short summary in English.
